Pearson Senior Product Manager
Location: Concord, New Hampshire
As a member of the Assessment Product team, the Senior Product Manager works closely with the Product Director and cross-functional teams including technology, program management, content, psychometrics, sales, and marketing, to manage the roadmap, product development, and risks on a new assessment product entering the market. The Senior Product Manager has deep knowledge and expertise in assessment literacy and is responsible for fulfilling the overall product vision, ensuring it meets the needs of stakeholders. The Senior Product Manager plays a key role in executing the School Assessment product strategy.
Overall Responsibility
The Senior Product Manager will be a key leader for the product, responsible for leading team meetings, customer conversations, presenting at conferences, and owning the product direction.
The Senior Product Manager will conduct market research on the problems that educators are trying to solve and use this information to recommend future roadmap enhancements. This may include strategies for creating interactive reporting dashboards, connections to learning resources, or incorporating artificial intelligence.
The Senior Product Manager will collect user feedback through interviews, focus groups, and surveys, acting as the voice of the customer and representing them throughout the development lifecycle.
The Senior Product Manager will manage product feature development and cross-product integrations with internal teams and vendors to ensure that the roadmaps are delivered according to schedule and budget, including planning the investment and seeking funding from Pearson leadership.
The Senior Product Manager will maintain the relationship with Sales and Marketing to ensure that the product is accurately described in the market and that internal stakeholders are trained and proficient in the product purpose, uses, and claims. This role will engage in the marketing strategy (e.g., social media, webinars, content creation).
The Senior Product Manager will formulate and execute a customer engagement strategy, including leading customer forums, tracking usage, and supporting implementation teams for an outstanding onboarding experience.
The Senior Product Manager will collaborate with the proposal team to create clear and compelling proposal text and inform pricing strategies.
The Senior Product Manager collaborates with partners, vendors, and internal functional groups to ensure that the specific goals of the product are well understood and executed, and any known gaps are documented and communicated.
The Senior Product Manager will manage risks associated with product readiness, identifying mitigation strategies to support on-time delivery. Occasional travel will be required.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain and extend the product roadmap for transparency across the School Assessment organization.
- Provide leadership in creating product development schedules and offer solutions when deliverables are at risk.
- Develop the overall product plan including deliverables, milestone dates, and resource needs, updating it in real-time as needed.
- Develop product reporting requirements and write clear acceptance criteria to support all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Manage both the specific product and its integration with the software solution.
- Collect evidence to validate the efficacy of the product and specific features for improving learner outcomes.
- Systematically collect customer feedback and translate it into enhancements.
- Support the creation of new business cases associated with the product.
- Work with Sales and Marketing to ensure product collateral and documentation are accurate and aligned with the value proposition.
- Collect and manage associated key performance indicators.
- Support implementation and training for successful product use, including leading the creation of guides and videos.

Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required.
8 years of product management experience required.
3+ years of developing academic assessment or instructional products required.
Experience using project and product management software preferred.

Compensation: The minimum full-time salary range is between $90,000 - $110,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
