Job Summary
The PAC needs to fill a temporary access assistant position for someone to attend class on the Hammond campus as soon as possible to live-stream classes to a PNW student who is unable to come to campus for medical reasons. The position pays $12 per hour, and the PAC will provide the laptop/IPAD for this use. Using the laptop/IPAD, the access assistant will turn on zoom for the student and ensure the student is able to hear the lecture and see the professor and any materials being shown. If the class is working in small groups the zoom monitor will take the zoom camera to the assigned group and ensure that the student is able to participate. If the student desires to ask questions or comment during whole class times, the zoom monitor will read the student's questions or comments aloud. For small group activities the zoom monitor will ensure the group can hear the student so they can participate with the group themselves. The access assistant does not need to have a Communications or Sociology background.
An access assistant is currently needed for the following classes and times:
COM 250 - Mass Communication and Society
MW, 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Gyte 213COM 354 - Introduction to Health Communication
TR, 11 am. To 12:15 p.m., Gyte 117SOC 220 - Social Problems
TR, 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m, Gyte 119
This position is temporary and expected to last about one month.
