Your Team, Your Impact

The Senior Director of Product Engineering for Optics will lead the manufacturing development needed for the production of cutting-edge optical products including pluggable modules and co-packaged optics. This role requires a deep understanding of optical technologies, optics and IC manufacturing practices, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and excellence in product development.

What You Can Expect

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Optical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree highly preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in product and test engineering, with focus on optical modules, components, or related fields
  • Prior experience in silicon photonics and its integration is highly desired
  • Prior experience in IC manufacturing processes, assembly and test practices is also highly desired
  • Proven track record of successful product development and testing in the optical technology industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What We're Looking For

  • Lead and manage the various product engineering teams, including module, sub-component, and silicon photonics levels, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Oversee the process and test development of pluggable and co-packaged optical products, ensuring high-quality and reliable products
  • Develop and implement manufacturing assembly and test procedures to ensure product performance, manufacturability, production capacity and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive new product development (NPI) and improvement as well as planning and procurement teams on production issues and ramps
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in optical technology to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for the product and test engineering team to ensure successful product launches.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
