The Automation Controls Engineer designs, implements, and maintains automation systems to enhance efficiency and meet product specifications. These systems include liquid calibration equipment for validating flow instruments, automated manufacturing tools for welding and testing, and logistic support systems in shipping and warehousing.

My client is a global manufacturer specializing in innovative process instrumentation and measurement solutions for industries such as oil & gas, water & wastewater, chemicals, and food & beverage. They provide high-precision products like flow meters, level sensors, and temperature instruments to optimize industrial processes and ensure accuracy in critical applications.

Description

In this role you will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize manufacturing automation systems.
  • Design and develop PLC/Loop Controller systems based on project needs and timelines.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs and Loop Controllers from various manufacturers (e.g., Automation Direct, Allen-Bradley).
  • Develop and maintain HMI terminals for seamless user interaction with controllers.
  • Design, program, and lay out electrical control panels and enclosures for machines.
  • Create and maintain databases for automation system management and tracking.
  • Document control system designs and modifications for future reference and improvements.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and repair assistance to manufacturing teams and facility electrical systems.

Profile

The successful candidate will have

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical ,Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and Loop Controllers from multiple manufacturers (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Automation Direct).
  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex electrical control systems, including panel layouts and automation processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving issues in manufacturing automation systems.
  • Experience in integrating and maintaining databases, along with documenting and managing control system changes.
