Adjunct Faculty - History of Design

Job Description

The School of Sciences and Humanities is seeking a faculty member for the spring semester to teach a 4-credit History of Design class which is offered to the Interior and Industrial Design students on campus.

The Spring 2025 semester begins on January 7th and continues until April 8th with final exams the following week.

Course schedule: The class is currently scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-11:45 am to fit the open schedule of these students.

Course description: Using the Museum of Fine Arts as a study collection, this course surveys the global history of designed goods and design for industry from 1600 to the present, with emphasis on the twentieth century. It addresses not only styles and methods of production but also trends in trade and consumerism.

Requirements: A Masters in Fine Arts or a graduate degree in history or design with prior teaching experience preferred.
