Provide comprehensive school social work services to parents, students, and staff to address barriers affecting students' educational experiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serve on Student Support Teams and special education committees Assist in the assessment of students in the Southern Plains Alternative Programs Participate in IEP team meetings Gather relevant data from parents, students, and agencies Provide individual and group counseling as needed Develop and implement training for educators and parents Participate in professional development on current educational trends Support teachers with behavior management strategies Assist in crisis situations Collaborate with the Behavior Interventionist on strategies Create and implement Behavior Intervention Plans Conduct home visits for assessments Collect and analyze classroom behavior data to inform interventions Act as a liaison with community agencies Refer families to appropriate resources KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of effective interventions for mental health issues Familiarity with child labor and Special Education laws Understanding of barriers to educational success Proficiency in behavior management techniques, including PBIS Strong communication skills for interaction with various stakeholders Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality
