Regional Sales Manager
Position Overview
The Regional Sales Manager at will lead the Sales Team and manage the sales process for theorganization. This experienced leader supports operations to implement the organizational salesstrategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. This position reports to the ChiefOperating Officer and is an integral part of the organization Leadership Team implementing and drivingthe company mission, and strategic vision.
Our Regional Sales Manager will live within one hour of our Northbrook, Il office location and willshare their time between our Michigan and Illinois markets. Travel will be 50-60% of the time.This is a salary plus commission and bonus based on the sales team performance opportunity.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Leadership and Development of Sales Team• Provides leadership, coaching and support to maximize potential in achieving monthly,quarterly and annual sales targets with an 8-person sales team spanning 2 states, Michiganand IL. The successful Regional Sales Manager will spend 50%-60% of his/her time in thefield with their team.• Builds and develops a high-performing sales and support teams with recruiting, hiringmentoring, coaching, and training that result in increased performance and achievement ofplanned business results.• Conduct 1:1 Sales Funnel Reviews and Weekly Team Meetings and Training• Conduct New Hire Field Training and Onboarding with the goal of increasing the speed ofcompetency and ramp up time.• Identify, coordinate, and facilitate gap training that will enhance the ability of the sales teammembers to increase attainment of the company goals.• Proactively manage all open deals in support of sales representatives with solutionsknowledge coaching.• Participates in meetings and presentations to support or close strategic or high-value sales.• Support attrition initiatives to support the team in reaching their attrition goal.Strategic Sales Planning• Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales strategies to meet or exceed thebusiness sales production plan. This position is responsible for driving revenue growth andachieving the business plan.• Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales,determine profitability and targets and identify potential new markets.• Strives for year over year for continuous improvement of the sales department to bring innew business and retain existing clients.• Prepares sales budget and business plan in collaboration with Executive Leadership.• Implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization operations.• Monitors the industry, business environment, competitors, and customer to develop plansaction plans for expanding and retaining the customer base.• Using customer feedback and insight gained from industry trends, the sales manager willcollaborate with internal Solution Team to identify and suggest new solution offerings.
Business Development of Major Accounts
• Develop a Major Account Target List• Manage existing major accounts and bring on 1-2 new major accounts a year.• Communicate and foster relationships with our major clients.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Successful background in outside business development, Sales leadership and peopledevelopment experience.• At least two years of successful individual contributor level sales experience with full cyclesales responsibilities and two years of managing and leading a sales team.• Highly motivated, target- driven with a proven track record using a consistent sales process• Highly competitive, a "refuse to lose" mentality.• Strong strategic skills and high business acumen• Openness to coaching and feedback• Strong desire to coach sales representatives• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools
