GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
To provide information to International students and prospects by providing support, verifying and maintaining all international student records within all systems including Colleague, Slate and the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).This position receives general direction from the Coordinator of Student Admissions and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
The cover letter should address how the following knowledge, skills, and abilities were acquired:
K nowledge of: 1.College policies and procedures regarding admissions standards and educational program requirements; 2. Principles of effective public relations; 3.Office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, and multi-line phones; 4. Understanding and interpreting federal and state laws and college policies and procedures; Skills in: 5. Using Microsoft Office, and other software applications required to complete the responsibilities of the position; 6. Analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of goals; 7. Conflict management; 8. Strategic planning and goal setting; 9. Public Speaking;Ability to: 10. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;11. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted the course of work; 12. Prepare and deliver oral presentations;
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Experience: More than one year of work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: More than two years of professional work experience in higher education, or one year of professional experience working directly in International Admissions in higher education
