Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Business Rules Consultant reporting within the Risk Engine Management (REM) organization, this employee will support the mission to design and build automated Risk Engine business rule solutions that meet business needs while managing risk to the organization. The employee will partner with key stakeholders to design innovative automated solutions, develop detailed rule requirements and rules that can be integrated into the business process and systems, and work to ensure quality implementation. Through partnership with key stakeholders, the position will help resolve business problems, help our partners serve customers, transform and simplify the mortgage origination processes, enforce Wells Fargo, investor, and regulatory policies through operational processes and controls and drive a consistent customer experience. In this role, you will:
Create detailed rule requirements documentation and develop the rules for WF’s automated underwriting system (Risk Engine) and ensure that all integration points (policy, process, systems, data, testing, requirements and rules) and fully understood and addressed.
Lead or participate in Business Rules end to end work effort including creation, sizing, forecasting, and execution
Participate in data modeling as necessary
Conduct flow validation of new rules and flow integration with existing rules environment
Review and analyze Business Rules artifacts
Develop rules, data, documentation, protocol, testing approaches, testing tools, scripts, project framework, and maintenance practices necessary to support the work effort and which conform to best practices and are compliant
Provide escalation production support as needed
Perform qualitative reviews and analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of rules design
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of requirements and design documents based on reviews of policy documents
Consult with business to identify alternatives or recommend reengineering options
Provide guidance to other colleagues
Gather cross functional business resources to full understanding related business and credit policies, why the policy is changing, relation to other policies and controls needed to support them.
Work to resolve production support for issues/defects by actively engaging through detailed research, partnering with key stakeholders and asking critical questions to understand the scenario, issue, interim process, initial impact assessment, resolution and root cause.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Business Rules Documentation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Proven problem solving skills and the ability to thoroughly research and analyze options and impacts of solutions; be willing to explore alternative approaches.
Experience with performing business analysis, writing requirements, coding and testing business rules; ability to drive ambiguous business problems into effective solutions and recommendations.
Preferred business rules management experience, specifically experience with CoBRRa application
Preferred business rule and user interface testing experience, specifically CORE
Basic knowledge of Wells Fargo Home Lending sales and/or operations processes or systems; with occasional guidance influencing business design decisions.
Basic knowledge and experience with automated underwriting tools (LPA, DU, HUD TOTAL Scorecard)
Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
Preferred Agile Delivery team experience
Possess oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate analysis and insights into relevant business discussions with diverse groups of leaders and organizations.
Ability to execute on new or revised processes.
Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, demonstrated ability to initiate work efforts in an independent manner
Ability to collaborate and build trusting and respectful relationships within the team and with key business partners. Handle difficult situations constructively and tactfully.
