Site Underground Technical Specialist

Kelly Engineering is currently seeking a Site Underground Technical Specialist for a long-term opportunity in Midland, Michigan! The Site Underground Technical Specialist will provide leadership in underground utility location and expertise for the Michigan Operations site, Corporate facilities and the surrounding GLBR.

Responsibilities include:

• Answering 811 MISS dig tickets on behalf of Dow. This includes 24/7 support, in addition any updates to any drawings or GIS tools.
• Proactive work updating drawing and Dow’s GIS system for various utilities on site and in the region when not working on other requests or tickets.
• Knowledge of safely operating utilities locating equipment and GPS location for GIS updates.
• Be proficient in/and updating the GIS system for new projects or discrepancies found in the field.
• Utility identification and consultation for all on site excavation work.

This role is critical to the compliance of the state statute, Public Act 174 and the states 811 MISS dig program. Each utility owner is responsible for identifying the location of their utilities within 24 hours of notification.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 1 – 2 years of directly related training
• 7-10 years of related experience
• Familiar with Fetch and Arc GIS programs highly preferred
