Clients will be referred by McKinley Health Center providers and will work in collaboration with the referring provider(s).Duties & ResponsibilitiesPatient Care ResponsibilitiesDiscuss client concerns, medical histories, and specific stresses or painful areas to develop personalized treatment plans.Evaluate patients\' soft tissue conditions and restrictions and apply the appropriate professional massage techniques within the scope of practice and licensing.Collaborate as needed with providers for appropriate and effective treatment.Assist in the promotion of the health and wellness benefits.Performs other duties as assigned.Practice ResponsibilitiesComplete detailed and accurate treatment documentation in a timely manner using the McKinley Health Center\'s electronic health record system.Possess and maintain knowledge of quality and effective massage techniques.Stay abreast of developments in massage therapy.Refer clients to other members of the health care team as necessary and appropriate.Maintain room cleanliness at all times.Maintain current licensure to practice massage therapy in the State of Illinois and operates within the restrictions as outlined in the Illinois Massage Therapy Act and other relevant regulations.Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.General ResponsibilitiesOperates under the written guidelines contained in the Policy Manuals of McKinley Health Center, the Office of Student Affairs, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Operates under written departmental policy which complies with state and federal laws.Treats patients, staff, and colleagues with courtesy and respect.Is responsible for and accountable to supporting and ensuring a culture of safety, quality, and risk management including compliance with ethics.Minimum QualificationsCurrent licensure to practice massage therapy in the State of Illinois.3 previous years of experience in a massage therapy practice.High School graduate, graduate from an accredited Massage Therapy school.Appointment InformationThis is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected sta t date is as soon as possible after 1/6/2025.
