Travel Nurse RN - PCU in Salem, VA

- Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients
- Chest tube management and experience with epidurals
**Job Description:**
- Work in a 15-bed unit alongside a team of 22 staff members, including RNs and PCTs.
- Manage patient ratios typically ranging from 4-5 patients per nurse.
- Utilize cardiac telemetry equipment, manage chest tubes, and administer critical drips (e.g., NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone).
- Care for post-cath patients, post-surgical patients, including those who have undergone open heart surgery, lung surgery, or general surgery.
- Utilize the Meditech EMR system for patient management.
- Perform typical procedures such as post-cardiac cath management, EP studies, and device placements.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and time management skills, especially with a high turnover of patients.
- Be adaptable and team-oriented, willing to go above and beyond for patient care.
- May float to areas like ICU (managing PCU-type patients) and Med-Surg (handling up to 5 patients) as needed.
- Adhere to the dress code of navy or white scrubs, with mixing and matching allowed.
- Work every other weekend or fulfill four weekend shifts during the assignment.
