DescriptionECC is seeking an Associate Environmental Engineer. Qualified candidates should have experience performing in-situ or ex-situ environmental systems design, scientific analysis, field engineering support, or quality control. You must be able and willing to travel to project sites as needed, ECC covers the cost of travel expenses. This office and field position is primarily responsible for helping plan, select, coordinate and implement scientific and engineering services to fully address the scope of work on environmental remediation and hazardous waste management projects in accordance with Company standards, regulatory criteria, and contractual obligations. In this position, you will:Consult and collaborate work with Project Manager, Superintendent, as well as Health and Safety, Quality Control, Project Controls, Estimating, and Contracts representatives to properly plan, coordinate and ensure progress of deliverables per the approved budget and scheduleSelect and apply appropriate environmental technologies and cost-effective solutions to remediate or remove contaminants and meet project objectives.Plan, prepare, review, and issue project and field submittals within approved budget including but not limited to work plans, design documents, analytical reports, field submittals, operation & maintenance reports, closure reports.Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes and standards, national/ local standards, and company SOPs.Identify, address and communicate technical, operational and business risks relevant to the selected project approach and technology to the Project ManagerAuthor RFQs and assist in procurement and selection of technical and specialty subcontractors, consultants and service providers to accomplish scope of workReport to the field to perform, observe and/or inspect fieldworkReview work of personnel, subcontractors and consultants to ensure compliance with approved plans and acceptable tolerances.Ensure that appropriate and required testing is completed by qualified personnel using properly calibrated equipmentEvaluate, review, monitor and document results and help make necessary decisions/ adjustments to proceduresComplete related documentation (field reports, logs, meeting minutes, online submittal sites), in a timely and accurate manner.Investigate and recommend solutions in response to field changes, RFIs, and resolve fieldwork issues related to quality, technology, installed equipment, and operationIn addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this positionRequirementsThe ability to communicate in written or verbal formats with diplomacy and tactAn aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoningStrong organizational skills, and skilled at leading dispersed teams to accomplish tasks and activities adhering to established budget and scheduleSkilled in achieving project objectives by properly reviewing/ inspecting work for adherence to approved technical plans, drawings and specificationsDemonstrated knowledge applying scientific standards of practice and regulatory codes and standards to environmental and field techniquesProven knowledge in reading and comprehending client requirements, technical plans, specifications, and related technical documentationSuccessful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractorsAbility to mentor and guide team members and share lessons learnedDedicated to remaining abreast of technology developments and industry trendsCompetent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and WindowsStrong technical writing skillsThree years of progressively responsible experience performing in-situ or ex-situ environmental systems design, scientific analysis, field engineering support, or quality control on environmental remediation or hazardous waste management projectsEducation - This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Life, Earth or Natural Sciences, Environmental Management, or related field is required for this position.
