JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounts Receivable Technician is responsible for supporting the accounts receivable process. This position creates customer invoices, reconciles customer statements, and processes customer payments. The Accounts Receivable Technician will also be responsible for processing equipment rental contracts and providing excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Enter customer rental contracts.
  • Complete internal audit of information for accuracy in company software system.
  • Assist with customer accounts receivable inquiries and customer service calls including scheduled collection calls.
  • Assist Accounting with month-end close out as needed.
  • Organize paper and electronic filing according to company filing process.
  • Primary point of contact in answering incoming phone calls and transferring calls or communicating messages.
  • Generate invoices for sales and rentals as required for all service locations.
  • Compile invoicing for projects to chart cost and items on rent.
  • Correct existing invoices to include reference numbers as well as any other required notation to expedite payment.
  • Provide explanation and interpretation of billing practices to customers.
  • Submit invoices to our customers through their specific electronic submittal portal.
  • Create new customers in the computer software with proper documentation and complete required applications when needed.
  • Enter daily payments and applications in computer systems.
  • Process journal entries and adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with reconciliation and review of other accounting functions as needed.
  • Assist in preparation for annual audit of financial statements.
  • Prepare estimates internally and externally as requested.
  • Prepare and markup Accounts Receivables aged detail for review and meetings to target customer accounts that require review or attention.
  • Provide remittance advice for customers submitting payment via ACH.
  • Recommend process improvements and assist with process implementation.
  • Assist accounting with special projects as directed.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Established understanding of equipment rental industry; general knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.
  • Applied A/P and A/R knowledge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree in Business Technologies or similar field or equivalent experience required.
  • Three years previous experience with equipment rental operations, construction equipment field or fleet record maintenance preferred.
  • Four years or more experience in customer service field required.
  • TEXADA software program experience preferred.
  • Valid state Driver’s License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy required.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving and background screening.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Accounting Department is a fast-paced multi-tasking environment requiring regular attendance. Work may require occasional overtime.
