Job Title: Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist
Job Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab
Job Duration: 14 weeks
Shift: Day 4x10 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Two years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab preferred
License: Registered ARRT required or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) required within 18 months of hire or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification
Certifications:
- BLS - American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- Fluoroscopy Certification
Must-Have:
- Radiation badges need to be supplied by the vendor
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree preferred
Job Description:
- Provide technical support in the cardiac catheterization laboratory during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Offer technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures and patient care under the supervision of an RN.
- Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acting as a scrub assistant, and maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment and work in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
- Educate patients and families regarding the procedure and expectations. Teach patients and families about pre and post-procedure physical conditions.
- Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintain appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
- Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards and accurately document productivity information.
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identify potential areas for improvement, including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction. Identify potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff, and take appropriate actions.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and abide by service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
