We are seeking a full‐time Applications Scientist to work out of our corporate office in Burlington,

Massachusetts.


About our Company

Netzsch Instruments North America, LLC is part of the Analyzing & Testing business unit of the NETZSCH Group, headquartered in Germany, which develops and manufactures a complete high-precision instrument line for thermal analysis and thermophysical properties measurement, rheology and fire testing as well as offering world class commercial testing services in our laboratories. Our instrumentation is employed for research and quality control in the polymer sector, the chemical industry, the areas of inorganic and building materials, and environmental analysis.


Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Thermal analysis and measurement of thermo-physical properties of customer samples by a variety of methods including DSC, TGA, STA and evolved gas analysis by MS, GC-MS, and FTIR. When applicable, testing is performed following ASTM and ISO standards.
  • Sample preparation, instrument operation, data evaluation and technical reporting.
  • Troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Support of laboratory QA activities and ISO compliance.
  • Provide application support to customers as well as the sales, and service.
  • Generate technical papers, presentations and application notes, including occasional travel for conferences, seminar presentations, and customer training.
  • Provide application support and training for instrument customers as well as sales and service.
  • Skills and Specifications:

    • Advanced skills in communication, organization, prioritization and time management.
    • Experience or strong interest in rheological measurements is strongly preferred.
    • Ability to meet project deadlines with great attention to detail.
  • Education and Qualifications:

    • Minimum BS in physics, engineering, chemistry or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience.
