We have an immediate opening for a Data Architect in our Product Development team with the option to work remotely or at our headquarters in Burlington, MA. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's data architecture to ensure the efficient and effective storage, retrieval, and analysis of data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, data modeling, data integration, database design, with a passion for leveraging data to drive business success. As a Data Architect, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure our data systems are robust, scalable, and secure.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand data requirements and define data architecture goals that are aligned with business requirements.
- Develop strategies for the integration of data from various sources, ensuring seamless and accurate data flow.
- Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts to reflect the requirements and design objectives.
- Create detailed specifications for data requirements, systems, and processes.
- Design and implement effective, scalable and high-performance database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data, while ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across different databases.
- Define and implement standards for data modeling to ensure consistency and reusability.
- Optimize and tune existing data & database systems for performance and reliability.
- Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements.
- Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions where needed.
- Implement and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for efficient data movement.
- Establish and enforce data management & data governance policies and procedures; ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data management.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance the organization's data architecture.
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud platforms especially in AWS.
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling and database design principles; experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) is a must.
- Experience with high speed/distributed data processing tools like Polars, Spark, Dask, Ray etc.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Expertise in data quality management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiar with agile software development practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain and discuss data related concepts with colleagues and customers.
- Ability to collaborate with people at all levels and with multiple-office/region teams.
- Ability to work without supervision and juggle priorities to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:
- Extensive knowledge of wind plant data, wind turbine design, or operations of a wind plant.
- Deep experience with AWS data warehouse and ETL tools such as Redshift, Glue, Data Pipeline etc. to efficiently and effectively manage data and their transformations.
- AWS data architect certification preferred.
