Associate Attorney

A well known mid sized law firm seeks a litigation associate with at least 3-5 years’ legal experience in handling foreclosure matters.

Applicants must be admitted in New York State; admission in New Jersey is a strong plus. Applicants must have a desire to work on lean teams; gain hands-on experience with client contact, taking/defending depositions, and court proceedings; and strategize on all aspects of a matter.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience handling foreclosure cases from inception to closing;
• Extensive research and writing skills (including having drafted dispositive and non-dispositive motions);
• Discovery experience (including with collecting client documents, reviewing documents, drafting document requests, interrogatories, and responses, using discovery platforms like Relativity, conducting meet and confers, drafting search terms, understanding all aspects of e-discovery);
• Deposition experience preferred, though not required (including taking and defending depositions, preparing deposition outlines, preparing other attorneys and/or clients for depositions);
• Court room experience preferred, though not required (including oral arguments on motions, preliminary and compliance conferences, settlement conferences).
