**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Job Specialty:** Pediatrics
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Day shifts, 3 days a week, 12 hours per shift. Weekend and holiday requirements apply.
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience
**License:** Current RN License
**Certifications:**
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association
**Must-Have:** CV step-down experience
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to a diverse group of patients with varying health issues, from simple to complex.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians in examinations and minor procedures.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe and intervene based on patient needs.
- Administer prescribed medications; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care.
- Interact with patients and families to share care plans and inform them of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Work across various acute care units including Pediatric Medical Unit, Pediatric Surgical Unit, Pediatric Medical Specialty Unit, and occasionally Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit.
**Skills Required:**
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
**Educational Requirements:**
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a board-approved program
**Languages:** English (Speak, Read, Write)
