Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Network Administrator III. The candidate will work onsite at Naval Base Point Loma supporting Tactical Training Group Pacific (TTGP) in providing Network and Systems Administration directly to training staff and the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Programs of Record. Additionally, the position requires flexibility to work non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved. Reports to: Fleet Synthetic Training Mission Coordinator Lead.
- Provide technical assistance to military staff and Contractor War Gaming Staff for Secret internet (SIPR) and C4I Systems to include JSAF, LMMT, GCCS-J, ASSET, CV-TSC.
- Knowledge of Active Directory (Windows) for account creation. Assist with SAAR-N processing through NETTN SAAR-N tracker and PDFs.
- Conduct troubleshooting of Virtual Machines within War Gaming classrooms.
- Serve as TTGP Network Administrator in support of Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) events for NCTE assets.
- Serve as TTGP Network Administrator in support of locally held training courses such as MSPC, TFCC Trainer, WCC1 & II, SCC Seminar.
- Manage the setup, operation and monitoring of internal voice communication systems (RIC/ERM) and communications plan prior to and during war gaming events.
- Troubleshoot internal voice communications (RIC) to the tier 1 and tier 2 level.
- Assist with inventory of current assets and DRMO of outdated equipment, safeguarding systems in accordance with prescribed classification level.
- Document training system deficiencies and processes identified during testing and exercise execution.
- Prepare After Action Reports (AAR), Lessons Learned (LL), briefing, training completion reports/status, and any in-process/recommendations for improvement in support FST and classroom events and exercises.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR
- 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- 5 years’ experience with military C4I systems’ operational and technical integration and system administration. Has the ability to recognize and troubleshoot C4I system problems to assure continued execution of war gaming events.
- Required IT certifications: Windows Operating System (or equivalent); CompTIA Security + CE (or equivalent or higher).
- Experienced in Windows system administration.
- Knowledge of managing clients in a virtual operating system environment, creating and managing accounts and interactive troubleshooting with users.
- Military experience and familiarity with Navy customs and courtesies.
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to read and digest technical information.
- Current Secret clearance required.
- Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of desktop or personal computers with associated software (i.e. word processing, graphics, database, spreadsheets, etc.) or other computer products as required by the applicable discipline.
- Prior military service leadership level highly desired.
- Able to work late hours or when required.
- Have the flexibility to adjust working hours to accommodate the needs of the customer.
