Position Overview

Position Title: Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Faculty

Salary Range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $350,000 - $500,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. UC Salary information can be found here: Salary Scales .

Position Description

The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (Division Link ) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and seeks to recruit vascular and endovascular surgeons with a focus on research and clinical care in the area of advanced open and endovascular surgery.

The selected candidates will be responsible for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, conducting independent research, and overseeing all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Additional information can be found here: Health Sciences Compensation Plan .

Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (required at time of application)

  • Candidates must have an MD or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be Board eligible or Board certified in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
  • Candidates must have completed or be on track of completion of 0+5 or 5+2 fellowship program in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
  • Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with 2-3 years of experience teaching residents and fellows in vascular surgery, conducting independent research, providing clinical patient care, and a track record of publications are preferred.
