Job Description
Position Overview:
The Systems Analyst II, Enterprise Applications focuses on a variety of technical work and analysis as required for the development of user and systems security requirements. Performs highly complex tasks involving planning, designing, programming, installation, and maintenance of college systems. This position is a member of a 24/7/365 global department and availability of on-call and after-hour support.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implements business analysis and change management as needed
  2. Researches, plans, installs, configures, troubleshoots, maintains, and upgrades systems
  3. Maintains a broad knowledge of technology, equipment, and/or systems within the field of work
  4. Develops and maintains internal cross-functional relationships with users and key security groups to enhance physical and digital security across the college system
  5. Identifies complex problems, troubleshoots, and provides solutions to assist users
  6. Interacts with vendors to resolve problems and stays abreast of new updates
  7. Assists users in formulating requirements and advises on alternatives and implications
  8. Analyzes, designs, and implements plans for new systems or processes
  9. Provides recommendations and implementation on optimizing standard processes
  10. Works as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems
  11. Assists with the application of patches, installing software, managing the application and database environment, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting alerts.
  12. May assist with coordination of projects
  13. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

  • Requires knowledge of learned routines, procedures, practices, and more complex skills
  • Demonstrated analysis skills, knowledge of business process review functions, and knowledge of process design and project management
  • Ability to work in cooperation with developers, analysts, managers, and consultants
  • Ability to deal with somewhat complex problems that must be broken down into manageable pieces
  • Understands relationships between problem components and prioritizes them
  • Utilizes knowledge, experience, and available resources to find solutions
  • Participates in formal or informal group problem solving for immediate issues and collaborates with the team, sharing relevant information with those who may be affected by decisions

  • Ability to recognize immediate obstacles to completing work and initiate action to address a need without being directed
  • Knows and follows standard operating procedures and defines departmental metrics

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
  • Required to work on-call and after hours as needed and on a rotating schedule
  • Travel within LSC campuses/locations may be required
  • May regularly travel to different LSC locations
  • May be fully reassigned to other LSC locations if necessary
  • May need to work weekends and outside of core business hours if necessary

REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience with system administration and 2 years of experience with application support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or industry recognized equivalent experience
  • Experience in the administration of an IT Service Management system

PREFERRED Qualifications:

  • End-user and project support experience
  • Certified Associate Business Analyst (CABA)
  • Service-Now Certified System Administrator (SCSA)

Salary:
Hiring salary range is $69,679 - $80,131. Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
