Financial Analyst

Location: On-site in San Francisco Area

Our client, a dynamic company in the wine and spirits industry, is seeking a Financial Analyst. This role involves analyzing financial and operational data, building and refining monthly reports, and developing financial models to support strategic planning. The position is on-site in Danville and offers the chance to collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and CFO, working with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify, develop, and implement changes to capture cost savings on logistics, accelerate cash flow, minimize out-of-stocks, and improve customer service.
  • Build, analyze, and improve monthly reports including volume, costs, and margins.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against budget and identify key drivers of discrepancies.
  • Assist in pricing analysis and monitoring costs and margins at customer and SKU levels.
  • Develop financial models (forecasts, pricing) to support strategic planning.
  • Automate and build digital management information (MI) or reports for the PE firm and management team.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Manager, CFO, and operations leaders.
  • Continuously improve financial processes, reports, and systems.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in finance and/or data analysis supporting finance/business/operations teams.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills and proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience in conducting variance analysis to compare actuals against budget.
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or business; advanced degree or certifications (CPA, CFA, MBA) are a plus.

Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $80K - $90K per year.
