What we do:
The SF Information & Technology Services (SF ITS) group is responsible for the strategic planning and provisioning of technology products and services to the Bank and across the Federal Reserve. Within SF ITS, the Digital Products organization is accountable for delivery and management of all IT applications and assets in the district. Digital Products sets the Bank’s future of work strategy in support of business line product strategies, optimizes how users experience technology, and aligns it to the needs of the business through continuous innovation, technology governance, and hands-on leadership.
The Portfolio Manager is an individual contributor role responsible for leading all aspects of the San Francisco district’s IT Digital strategy, technology investments, and telling our story. This role will lead technology investment planning with several business stakeholders, while ensuring investment is aligned with the Bank’s and Enterprise priorities. They will actively manage the district’s technology inventory highlighting optimization opportunities, potential risks, and providing executive reporting. This role will chair a technology advisory group and keep the CIO informed on overall technology health. In addition to these Bank-facing activities, this role will also drive ITS Digital Products team activities in partnership with the GVP. This will include coordinating strategy planning, creating team, program and technology roadmaps, coordinating group outreach and education initiatives such as annual attestations and Tech Cafes, managing special projects, and facilitating organizational change management, as needed.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and tactical, using data to actively manage the technology inventory based on business needs and feedback. They will have superb execution, coordination, analytical, and business process skills. Moreover, they will have mastery level communication capabilities demonstrated by creating and delivering communications clearly, concisely, and adapting messaging to various audiences. They will possess the highest level of poise and presence, to be leveraged in representing ITS executives, facilitating passionate governance conversations, and influencing executives across the Bank.
Responsibilities:
- Drives and coordinates Bank Technology Strategies, Advisory Groups, and Digital Tool education.
- Leads regular interactions with executive sponsors and stakeholders to identify specific needs and addresses them appropriately.
- Establishes and ensures appropriate governance functions in accordance with enterprise policies and practices, on behalf of the executive sponsor.
- Develops and controls the portfolio budget and manages expenditure within agreed spending plans.
- Leads the development and maintenance of stakeholder mapping, communications, and reporting.
- Guides the evolution of the technology advisory group in alignment with CIO vision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Typically requires 10 or more years of IT and business / industry work experience and 5+ years of experience in diverse roles with increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs.
- Excellent emotional IQ, problem solving and stakeholder leadership experience with strong communication skills, ability to synthesize complex ideas, explain them clearly, and influence and persuade executive leaders.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to take initiative, produce results under time constraints, and manage and lead with rapidly evolving priorities.
- Proven experience working in a relevant industry.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.
Base Salary Range for IT Program Manager Min: $155,700 - Mid: $202,200 - Max: $248,700 (Location: San Francisco)
Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
