Description
Windsor is currently seeking an Assistant Buyer for special occasion dresses to join our Windsor Family at our Corporate Headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This person will be a member within the Buying Department. Like any member of the family, the Assistant Buyer is expected to represent Windsor and its mission statement with integrity. The fundamental duty of this role is to work as a liaison for the buying and eCommerce team. This position requires a passion for fashion, a team player and a desire to learn and grow in the buying office. The Assistant Buyer should be energetic, organized, determined and overall fashionable!
Essential Job Functions:
  • Demonstrates product knowledge as a result of competitive shopping, following influencers and trends on Social Media, and research from other media outlets.
  • Assists Buyer in product selections and becomes an expert in his/her respective product areas.
  • Study our Windsor customer to have a strong understanding of her needs.
  • Establish and maintain a reputation of credibility and responsiveness in the marketplace.
  • Negotiate best price, product quality, quantities, and deliveries.
  • Write, send, prep and follow up on vendor POs.
  • Analyze selling report
  • Suggest Md's and/or promotions
  • Suggest reorders
  • Manage ecommerce inventory
  • Identify missed markdowns
  • Identify items that are not linked
  • Manage weekly web recap
  • Understand basic level of important retail metrics.
  • Understand and support team to achieve sales and margin targets for seasonal buying plan.
  • Manage receipt flows.
  • Assist Buyer in report generation.
  • Compile and present weekly findings in a meeting setting
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with eCommerce, San Pedro Buyer, Planning, Allocation, Store Marketing, Studio, and Social Media teams.
  • Partner with Allocation to supply eCommerce with backstock and/or increasing initial orders
  • Partner with San Pedro buyer with slow and best sellers, current needs and reorders
  • Assist Buyer and team with buying responsibilities.
  • Approve and organize samples with correct paperwork.
  • Prepare and bring samples for appropriate meetings.
  • Request samples for photoshoots.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in the fashion industry.
  • Prior Clerical or Assistant Buyer experience in a Fashion retail chain.
  • Degree in Fashion, Management or related fields (design, logistics, textiles, supply chain, merchandising, etc.)
  • Positive, respectful and self-motivated attitude.
  • Passionate about fashion and knowledgeable/up-to-date on latest trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Capability to pick up new skill sets quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong PC/Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheet application.

Physical/Environmental Demands and Overtime & Availability:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a small amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Adequate movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Team members are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
