The Role: Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant will assist with the day-to-day activities of the accounting function to maintain the accounting policies that are currently established. This position will help in ensuring that the general ledger complies with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and in maintain the highest levels of quality to proactively minimize operational risk. This role will collaborate with our external business process outsourcing partners and with our internal teams and departments to ensure accurate financial information.
What you'll do:
  • Enter daily cash activity, journal entries, reclasses, accruals, credit card transactions, and other transactions, as applicable.
  • Assist with month-end close by preparing journal entries and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review customer agreements and create invoices on a monthly basis
  • Support with credit process by interacting with third-party financial institutions and assisting with document exchange.
  • Assist with the accounts payable process, specifically entering invoices for payment, reviewing vendor credits, weekly payment reports, and matching invoices to purchase orders.
  • Review daily mail and correspondence.
  • Preparation of any ad-hoc reports that may arise to be provided by the Accounting team.
  • Develop strong internal relationships with members of various teams to effectively support business activity.
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or similar
  • Prior work experience or internships in accounting
  • Fluent in English
  • High proficiency in MS Excel
  • Experience with ERP system (preferably NetSuite)
  • Coachable, willing to learn, detailed oriented and organized
