Pharmacy Intern, Part-TimeLocation: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of any Elevance Health PulsePoint office, with preference given to our Cincinnati, OH or Colombus, OH locations.This Pharmacy Intern will be responsible for the interpretation and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.How you will make an impact:Assists in developing and configuring prior authorization decision trees in the workflow toolParticipates in quality assurance feedback from pharmacists of prior authorization decision trees within the workflow toolAssists in implementing clinical programs within the prior authorization spaceVerifies member, provider, and drug information and inputs data for the prior authorization pharmacists.Educates providers on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.Processes prior authorization requests from physicians’ offices and ensures compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements; inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.Minimum Requirements:Ability to work 20 per week for the duration of the internshipCurrently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university.A current, active, unrestricted Pharmacist Intern license in applicable state(s) required.Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:1st year PharmD students are preferred.Prior experience working in pharmacy retail strongly preferredFamiliarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Excellent Communication skills, both written and oralExcellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skillsExcellent Public Speaking and Presentation skillsPlease be advised that Elevance Health only accepts resumes for compensation from agencies that have a signed agreement with Elevance Health.
