Seeking Art School Director
The Atelier at Flowerfield, Inc. of St. James New York, is seeking a part-time director to oversee art class programming and gallery exhibitions. This is a 25 Hour per week commitment. Qualifications :
- Fundraising, grant writing, and event planning experience
- Solid organizational and administrative skills
- Working knowledge of not-for-profit organizations
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills
- Background in art/art history very helpful but not required
- Experience curating exhibitions is helpful but not required
- Knowledge of the current art scene
- Ability to collaborate with instructors, office staff, and The Atelier’s board of trustees
Responsibilities :
- Serve as the face of The Atelier
- Monitor and direct events and overall programming
- Provide an overall creative vision for the future of The Atelier
- Oversee instructors, staff, and volunteers
- Attend monthly board meetings and regular staff meetings

The Atelier is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit art studio and gallery space located in the Flowerfield business complex within Saint James, NY. Our mission is to stimulate and enhance appreciation of the arts on Long Island and the greater New York metropolitan area. In today's increasingly technological society, we strive to preserve beauty through learning, understanding, creation and enjoyment of art in all forms. Our goal is to teach art to students of all ages, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and of all levels of ability in a unique and nurturing learning environment We also seek to assist students in creating portfolios and advancing their careers.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $32,500.00 per year
Expected hours: 25.00 per week
