Summary

The CFO contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing the financial tasks and department for the organization. The following are considered primary areas of focus:

  • Ensure the maintenance of sound accounting systems that ensures the smooth operation of the organization and provide management team with financial reports analysis and recommendations to make solid business decisions affecting future outcomes.
  • Play an ongoing role in the creation, execution and refinement of profitable financial strategies designed to maximize opportunities for the organization, while also ensuring excellence in the company’s day-to-day financial accounting, reporting, analytical and planning functions, as well as the integration of best practices.
  • Responsible for the overall financial functions for the company. Is responsible for the oversight of all day-to-day accounting functions as well as the reporting and analysis of the general financial condition of the company.
  • Oversee Supply Chain/Operations and IT departments.


This position must develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to ensure an accurate, organized, and efficient environment that produces financial statements that are consistent with US GAAP and company policy.


Compensation

Base salary for this position is $200,000 to $220,000 with up to 25% bonus, depending on experience. Responsibilities


Finance and Accounting:

  • Assist in setting up systems, processes, accounting structure, and policies.
  • Benchmark, evaluate, recommend, customize and implement Financial best practices that support the business direction, and that promotes/enhances the desired outcomes, and ongoing maturity of the desired culture.
  • Setup and manage company’s insurance policies.
  • Monthly Closing.

o Review monthly closing documents before being submitted to CEO or BOD.

  • Manage requirements for annual CPA review of books.
  • Conduct quarterly internal audits
  • Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place and working correctly.
  • Prepare reports and other tools and analyses as required by the CEO.
  • Oversee compliance and reporting for all tax filings including:

o State sales tax

o Local tax

o Federal / State income tax

o VAT for European Subsidiary

  • Safeguard company’s assets by creating and maintaining sound internal control systems.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual cash flow forecasts as needed.
  • Cap table update quarterly

o Update cap table for any issued shares, new or expired options, and reconcile with balance sheet

  • Assist with annual budget process to be completed by November 1st of each year
  • SEC / Investment doc’s

o Develop annual SEC doc calendar

o Work with inside and outside SEC counsel as necessary to file required SEC documentation

o Responsible for all aspects of PPM or other investment documents as it relates to accounting and finance

  • Annual meeting and reporting

o Assist with planning and executing the annual shareholders meeting


Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee the Global Supply Chain and Operations teams, org chart, and performance of Senior Supply Chain Manager.
  • Assist with improving operational and supply chain processes creating efficiencies.
  • Oversee development of KPIs and implementation of analytical tools for SCM and operations.
  • Support strategic initiatives for supplier contracts and negotiations, process automation, align business processes between Finance and Operations departments.
  • Support with short and long term sales forecasts, production planning strategies, and inventory control strategies.


Information Technology Management:

  • Oversee IT department, org chart, and performance of IT Director.
  • Continually evaluate effectiveness of IT systems.
  • Ensure there is a consistent methodology for considering the IT aspects of business strategy and for including capital and operational IT costs in business initiative budgets.
  • Ensure that infrastructure is cost-effective, flexible, scalable and will lead to reduced future per-user computing costs.
  • Oversee implementation of a technology governance process with executive and stakeholder membership and buy-in.
  • Ensure that IT performance metrics are aligned with the technology strategy
  • Ensure that IT internal controls and audit processes are defined and working properly
  • Ensure that security and disaster recovery plans and procedures are complete and are thoroughly tested


Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years Finance & Accounting experience with a successful track record and advancement, currently in a financial leadership role for a high growth/fast paced company.
  • 5+ years experience working for a wholesale consumer products goods company, preferably women's apparel or similar related product.
  • 3+ years management of Supply Chain and IT departments.
  • Must have experience managing financial processes as a part of M&A.
  • Must have experience with SEC reporting.
  • 4 year undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office, SAP experience desirable.
