The Executive Site Director is a critical role at Tufts Medical Center as the first escalation point and the primary coordinator of Information Services (IS) work at Tufts Medical Center and affiliates.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Information Officer, you will be responsible for leading Information Services (IS) to support the mission, vision and goals for Tufts Medical Center. Developing and implementing a plan that addresses governance, system-wide IS strategies, goals and objectives and tactical plans to align the site IS delivery with the Hospital site's organization needs. You will work collaboratively with others within the System IS leadership team to assure successful delivery of all hospital site IS operational needs and to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for the creation and management of the hospital site IS budget and assure quality and compliance standards are being met along with IS systems, assets, technology roadmap and vision in support of Tufts Medicine' s business strategy. Your scope will include telecommunication technology, local and wide area network administration, office automation, technical support and coordination with other departments and external agencies. You will have oversight and development of a high performing IT site teams which support Infrastructure, and the local site needs along with providing direction and leadership needed to optimize the technology solutions, and the management of key site vendors.
What you need
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area of study.
2. Twelve (12) years of experience in leading IT operations including five (5) years in a leadership role.
3. Experience in multi-site operations, complex infrastructure, large member population applications, healthcare and/or managed care industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area of study.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Responsible for strategic planning for technology infrastructure, information system assets, and telecommunication for the site aligning with the system wide objectives with a clear business outcome.
2. Assumes full operational management responsibility for information architecture and telecommunication technology functions and services at the site. Ensures that team meets requirements for providing ongoing support, including coordinating of "on call". Ensures customer satisfaction throughout all support processes. Collaborates with Service and Help Desk management on potential improvements.
3. Ensures appropriate implementation and support for medical, business and clinical systems by managing and coordinating development/maintenance, data processing, data center infrastructure, local/wide area network administration, office automation and technical support activities.
4. Engages, builds and partners with various executive leaders and key stakeholders, to ensure that activities from the teams are in alignment with current business objectives, as well as long term vision of the system, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
5. Responsible for optimizing the IT demands and the supply capacity of the teams to prioritize the assignment of resources. Creates an engaged and high performing team.
6. Develops and tracks the objectives for operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the IT systems and a plan for continuous improvement of the service levels and roadmap applying best practices.
7. Manages and shares monthly reports on service levels for infrastructure, development, operations, and vendor management activities.
8. Inspires and develops an inclusive, talented team of IT staff. Provide coaching and mentorship and advise on individual career development paths.
9. Provides expertise and leadership in selection and management of vendors to provide low-cost, high efficiency solutions, which are size-appropriate for the current environment while being able to expand as the organization grows
10. Provides leadership in the implementation of IT policies and site-specific operational procedures that affect the reliability of the IT infrastructure.
11. Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established policies, procedures and objectives.
12. Maintains and enhances professional expertise and skills through participation in appropriate educational and training seminars related to Information Technology.
Physical Requirements:
1. Work environment: professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operate office equipment.
3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information.
4. Able to see and read computers displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Job Profile Summary
This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) solutions in order to meet the organization's needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Information Architecture Design duties: Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Includes design and prototyping, trouble shooting/problem solving/bandwidth/performance/system sustainability, devices both clinical as well as non-clinical.
