Position Overview:
The Riverside Research Sensors and Systems Business Unit is seeking a full-time, highly skilled, and motivated Sr. Solutions Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead the design and development of the next-generation Automated Collection Orchestration Solutions to support our National Security clients. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can lead technical teams, design end-to-end solutions, and collaborate with customers to implement cutting-edge tools and infrastructure that integrate multi-sensor data and advanced analytics for automated collection planning.
Responsibilities:
System Design & Architecture: Lead the design, documentation, and implementation of future systems for automated collection orchestration, integrating diverse sensor data and ensuring scalability and high availability across cloud environments.
Collection Planning Tools: Oversee the evaluation and enhancement of the current Collection Planning Suite of tools to improve functionality and adapt to evolving customer needs.
Customer Collaboration: Partner with National Security clients to identify needs, propose innovative solutions, and ensure successful delivery of mission-critical applications.
Technology Integration: Design and implement advanced systems using cloud-based solutions, AI/ML algorithms, and data fusion techniques for collection orchestration, including feasibility optimization and sensor planning for dynamic and static targets.
Advanced Sensor Systems: Develop architectures that incorporate emerging technologies across various sensing phenomenologies such as EO, SAR, LiDAR, and more, for intelligence and defense applications.
Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in systems engineering, algorithm development, and rapid prototyping.
Documentation & Best Practices: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring solutions meet security, compliance, and mission standards.
Qualifications:
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication.
Minimum of 15 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, 12 years with a Masters Degree or a PhD with 8
years’ experience.
Experience in systems engineering or solutions architecture, with proven expertise in designing large-scale, automated, cloud-based systems.
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS GovCloud preferred), cloud-native application development, and data processing.
Experience with AI/ML-driven applications, including data fusion, real-time data processing, and behavior detection algorithms.
Expertise in developing collection planning systems, multi-sensor networks, and sensor management for defense and intelligence clients.
Familiarity with advanced sensing systems, including EO, LiDAR, and radar, and the corresponding data processing and analytics techniques.
Proven track record of leading technical teams and managing complex projects from concept through execution.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with experience collaborating with high-profile government clients.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with machine learning for sensor management, behavioral detection, or collection feasibility optimization.
Strong background in automated collection tasking, orchestration, and predictive analytics for national security.
Experience with commercial technologies and transitioning R&D systems into operational environments.
Professional affiliations (e.g., IEEE, SPIE) and recognition for technical excellence within the intelligence or defense community.
Global Comp:
$230,000 - $250,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
