SVP Wholesale Commercial

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop plans and drive execution resulting in consistent, sustainable growth in sales in terms of market share growth, revenue generated, Pricing Margin, EBIT, and overall customer engagement.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term strategies to achieve revenue targets and profit growth goals.
  • Oversee dealer account performance review and evaluation process on a continuous basis addressing opportunities to improve market share, revenue growth, and account profitability.
  • Measure performance and variance from sales and margin plans at the district and territory levels.
  • Motivate sales and business development associates to achieve results through focus on channel and marketing objectives. Promote achievement of forecast and adherence to budget.
  • Plan and implement sales development programs and establish, or aid in the development of tools, procedures, and standards to guide the sales force.
  • Lead, manage, and create a strategy to ensure Customer Care meets the future strategic objectives of the business.
  • Collaborate and partner with the business leaders to ensure the needs of the customer are met.
  • Implement new service demands and opportunities for the business to serve customers and potentially generate revenue.
  • Develop leadership and a marketing vision, strategy, and objectives for the wholesale channels.
  • Determine the most attractive value propositions and offerings for the market segments. Align product launches with the organization's overall marketing strategy.
  • Develop and execute a clearly defined marketing and communications strategy in a manner that supports consistent business growth and enhances brand equity and awareness.
  • Manage processes, budgets, performance, and compliance activities as required by the job.
  • Create an associate environment that supports the Company culture, is service-focused, and attracts and retains talent.
  • Understand and demonstrate Essendant’s Core Values and Guiding Actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Proven knowledge in the JanSan/Food Service industry.
  • Ability to build and motivate a strong workforce.
  • Ability to plan, navigate, and negotiate a complex sales process.
  • Develop rapport and effectively represent Essendant to the dealer community at multiple levels (C-level to first line associates).
  • Extensive travel is required to maintain dealer relationships and understand market conditions.
  • Ability to influence others to get results and decisions made, working with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of Customer Service and Call Center processes.
  • Self-motivator: Capable of creative and innovative thought and the ability to execute on ideas from development through implementation.
  • Flexible and adaptive to change.
  • Excellent user of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and function-specific software.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of related field experience.
