Must be able to read standard and metric tape measures.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Fabricate and weld parts with mig welding techniques using dual-shield wire.2. Ability to fabricate parts by reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols.3. Monitoring the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion material.4. Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials, and notify supervisors.5. Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.6. Ability to weld with hard-surfacing wire.7. Ability to air-arc.8. Maintain and secure work tools.9. Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide on-the-job training to new employees. 2. Fabrication work as needed. 3. Accurately account for time spent per job. 4. Keep work area clean including shop floor. 5. Minor maintenance of machines to include oiling, greasing, cleaning, etc. 6. Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints and assembly prints.WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots, welding helmets, long-sleeved nonflammable shirts. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry should not be worn.
