The position
The Alternative Trading System Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, system management, and operational leadership for the organization’s trading systems. Overseeing the implementation, configuration, and ongoing management of the ATS platform to ensure smooth and compliant operation. By collaborating with internal and external business partners the ATS Specialist will continuously enhance the ATS by implementing system upgrades, optimize system performance, add new features, and perform system integrations to meet the evolving needs of the organization. The ATS Specialist will provide oversight of the daily operations of the ATS ensuring the ATS’s operational and reporting requirements are met and adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
This role ensures the smooth execution of system operations, data integrity, compliance, and user support. The ATS Support Specialist will work closely with traders, IT teams, and compliance to optimize system performance, lead upgrades, and manage integrations.
What you do
- Collaborate with IT to define the product architecture and roadmap for the ATS matching engine, ensuring it aligns with the company's overall business objectives, customer needs, and compliant with rules and regs.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into detailed product specifications for the development teams.
- Offer real-time and after-hours trade support to internal and external business partners by providing professional responses in a timely, accurate, and informative manner.
- Mitigate client and firm risk exposure while adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to ATS users.
- Obtain an in-depth outstanding of the various systems utilized by Futu Clearing Inc. and have a bias to action when handling systematic issues when they arise.
- Continuously monitor systems market connectivity ensuring customer orders are processed timely and accurately.
- Continuously monitor system messaging to resolve order rejects or other trade related issues that may arise.
- Maintain data integrity by conducting regular system audits and ensuring data accuracy.
- Perform daily trade processing, correction, and reconciliation processes.
- Develop and analyze intraday reports to monitor trading activity ensuring proper order handling and regulatory compliance.
- Create and implement systematic monitoring of the ATS individual security trading volumes to perform concentration checks and publish daily reports to evidence review and compliance with Fair Access Rule and Reg SCI requirements.
- Act as a liaison for our clients, affiliates, and internal business partners addressing any critical or complex problems that may arise specific to trading.
- Review and evaluate market participants’ business activity to create, implement, or modify various market access or other trade risk controls to prevent clearly erroneous trades and deter potentially manipulative trading practices.
- Maximize client best execution opportunities by continuously evaluating order flow arrangements and vet the viability of any new potential partnerships through our onboarding process.
- Generate operational reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights for improvements that support improved business decision making and order routing strategies.
- Provide Strategic and actionable reporting for various target audiences across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to comprehend and adapt to changes in market regulations proactively updating policies and procedures as necessary.
- Assist Legal and Compliance in responding to any potential client complaints or regulatory inquiries that may arise.
- Build and manage strong rapport with members across the industry whether it’s with current or potential: clients, execution venues, vendors, Exchanges, direct or indirect competitors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

- Proven experience with ATS systems, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Possess vast market knowledge with expertise in Alternative Trading Systems and US market structure.
- Experience managing the daily operations and reporting requirements of Alternative Trading System.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading system upgrades and integrations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, traders, IT, and compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess data and generate actionable insights.
- Develop order routing strategies to optimize execution quality and analyze economic impacts.
- Ability to create a risk profile and governance and testing of controls of an Alternative Trading System.
- Comprehension of Regulation ATS and the Fair Access Rule and other legal and compliance requirements related to Alternative Trading Systems.
- Skilled at reading and interpreting rules and regulations and how they impact the business, creating policies and procedures to bridge technology or process gaps to industry best practices.
- Ability to reduce complexity and improve processes through continuous analysis and automation.

Education & Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.
- Proven experience of Alternative Trading Systems, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of order management systems and overall trading operations.
- Active FINRA series SIE, 7, 63, 57 required.
