SLR is seeking a new team member to support us in driving change in social impact; to provide expert support to companies on their social impact journey and to support the growth of B4SI across the North American region. The role will be part of the global B4SI team (

With demonstrable experience working in sustainability, community investment, CSR or responsible business, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the team with responsibilities ranging from project oversight and delivery, business development, client management, and thought leadership. The Senior Client Manager will have a key role developing and delivering work across our core services with a particular focus on network development, to enable businesses to maximize their societal impact through compelling strategies, effective implementation, and robust measurement.

The role will also be a conduit between our social impact consulting services and our B4SI network, ensuring effective alignment and co-operation across teams.

The role will be based in East Coast time zone; however, it could occasionally involve travel internationally on assignment.

Reporting to one of the senior B4SI team members, the Senior Client Manager will be required to work closely with all members of the team in EMEA & APAC regions, to achieve company, team, and project objectives.

Job Description

Required Skills and Technical Knowledge

  1. 4-5 years’ experience in sustainability, business or consulting OR in social impact assessment
  2. An ability to build close working relationships with clients and provide expert support in the application of the B4SI Frameworks, methodology, and supporting materials.
  3. Direct experience in a client-facing role, and in the context of social impact, either with internal or external clients.
  4. An understanding of the ESG agenda/Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability with a focus on Social Impact and what it means for business.
  5. Data analytics experience to enable proactive development of uses for data, to add value to B4SI and help its member companies make better decisions for increasingly positive societal impact.
  6. Ability to proactively track, analyze and report on account satisfaction, retention, and growth.
  7. An effective project manager, and team player, capable of managing multiple client queries concurrently.
  8. A personable, focused, and professional approach to work and a strong eye for and attention to detail.
  9. A strong communicator, capable of producing written reports and delivering oral presentations; ensuring good client service, this role will support the management and delivery of B4SI communications and events.
  10. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for this role.
  11. ACCP or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Skills and Technical Knowledge

  1. Experience of supporting companies to develop social impact strategies and measure results
  2. Experience of the B4SI Framework
  3. Experience of developing Excel-based tools.

Key Responsibilities

Client delivery, Project Management

  1. Understand and interpret client needs, clearly communicating client goals to internal and external stakeholders
  2. Support a portfolio of businesses in the B4SI Network through regular account management service
  3. Deliver client projects, with a focus on supporting clients with developing and improving approaches to and measurement of their societal impact
  4. Analyse data, making clear judgements about content and its presentation
  5. Prepare & deliver presentations and reports for clients
  6. Coordinate multiple projects, ensuring milestones and action items are met within agreed timelines and there is clear communication with clients.

Business development, Engagement, & Thought leadership

  1. Draft and develop proposals with sign off from senior team members.
  2. Plan and participate in new business meetings, including research and scoping.
  3. Build partnerships with key industry stakeholders in the North America Region
  4. Plan and deliver social impact knowledge sharing opportunities for NA region (e.g., events, webinars, thought leadership, etc.)
  5. Partake in external engagement opportunities to boost B4SI recognition in NA
  6. Contribute to B4SI’s thought leadership through research, drafting articles and blogs
  7. Work with colleagues to develop new and innovate existing tools and services related to social impact
  8. Keep abreast of ESG landscape including regulatory requirements and best practices.

Global Team engagement

  1. Work with global B4SI team (APAC & EMEA) to deliver on objectives and goals
  2. Act as a conduit between our social impact consulting services and our B4SI network, ensuring effective alignment and co-operation across teams.
