JOB
The Water & Engineering Technology department is seeking a Senior Engineer. This position manages the development and implementation of complex sanitary sewer and water resource capital improvement projects for the Conveyance Systems Department. Serves as a technical resource for integrated water resources issues affecting the District. Plans, develops, designs, and administers sanitary sewer expansion, upgrade, and rehabilitation projects. Notes: The Senior Engineer posting will remain open until filled. The first review of applications will begin September 16, 2024.


EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  1. Manages the development of complex engineering projects.
  2. Develops schedules, prepares budget and scopes project.
  3. Approves changes to construction contract provision including changes to scope of work, extensions/accelerations of schedules, and changes in methodology, equipment, or control processes.
  4. Serves as Engineer of Record on District's Capital Improvement Projects and Local Improvement Districts.
  5. Reviews and stamps plans.
  6. Serves as a technical resource for integrated water resource issues affecting the District.
  7. Negotiates and resolves significant and controversial issues.
  8. Manages system modeling, planning projects, design, and implementation of the District’s sanitary and surface water management capital improvement projects.
  9. Serves as engineering liaison with other District divisions, departments, and outside agencies.
  10. Oversees and/or supervises selection and management of engineering consultant contractors.
  11. Coordinates work with project stakeholders, government agencies, other District divisions, contractors, and consultants.
  12. Manages the development and implementation of large scale planning and modeling efforts.
  13. Oversees, organizes, assigns, and reviews staff's work.
  14. Develops performance standards.
  15. Prepares performance evaluations.
  16. Provides coaching and prepares development plans.
  17. Assures compliance with District safety practices and procedures.
