Chemist

Qualifications:

• Required: B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or a Related Science.
• Ability to occasionally work additional hours/days as business needs dictate.
• Preferred: Experience in HI and I (Household, Industrial & Institutional) and/or CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers).
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
• Experience with FTIR, UV-Vis spectroscopy.
• Must be able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
• Familiarity with wet chemistry techniques (pH, flash point testing, and viscosity).

Responsibilities:

• Calibrate, qualify, maintain, and inventory laboratory instruments, equipment, standards, and chemicals.
• Write and update Standard Operating Instructions, Policies, and Specifications.
• Identify quality problems with raw materials and finished products, determine corrective or preventive actions, and verify successful outcomes.
• Assist in formulating products and performing batch scale-ups under the direction of the Technical Services Manager.
• Properly evaluate new raw materials.
