About The Role

As the IT Director at United Utility, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing technology strategies that propel our business forward. You will lead a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, enabling seamless operations across all levels of our organization. Your innovative mindset and strategic vision will drive transformative initiatives, driving us towards our goal of being at the forefront of the electric utility industry. This position can be based out of Charlotte or New Orleans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support services.
  • Lead and mentor a talented team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technology-enabled business initiatives.
  • Interact with customers to provide onsite, remote, and phone support as necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic).

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in IT leadership roles (utility or construction industry preferred).
  • Proven track record of successfully leading IT teams and implementing complex technology projects.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and IT governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Microsoft Office365 Implementation and Management.
  • Microsoft Azure Implementation and Management.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Office365 and Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans.

Key Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience with InTune and/or Autopilot.
  • Sage 300 platform management.
  • Sharepoint administration.
  • SQL administration.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, or ITIL.
  • Graduate degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
