Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales and Marketing Manager to lead our marketing initiatives and drive sales growth with a focus on the interior design and decorating industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both traditional and digital marketing strategies, with a proven ability to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns. This position has a base pay for 8 - 10 hours a week + commissions on all sales exceeding the monthly stipend pay. Our hope is that through the success of the candidate, this position will develop into a full-time role with influence on the future path of the company.
Company Background
We are essentially two businesses under one unique company. New World Cartographic buys and sells historic maps, prints, posters, and other paper ephemera. It is based in a gallery at the Bridgeport Art Center and sells original, antique material to collectors and institutions around the world.
The Vintage Map Shop is an online business that sells fine print reproductions of the original maps and prints procured by New World Cartographic. This business has strong potential with regards to breaking into the interior decorating market, specifically those that seek large, wholesale orders as we can print in unlimited quantity on demand. This business will be exhibiting at the Home Design Expo in Las Vegas, May 6 - 8, 2025, and we would expect our new employee to be very much involved with that event and hopefully others like it in the future.
Duties
- Utilize our unique historical content to develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns that enhance brand awareness and ultimately drive sales.
- Help build brand awareness for both companies through various social media outlets by engaging target audiences.
- Seek opportunities for localized outreach for our Chicago gallery.
- Utilize marketing automation tools (AI) to streamline processes and improve campaign effectiveness.
- Seek collaboration opportunities with Social Media Influencers that fit our area of expertise.
Qualifications & Useful Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in Business Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales and marketing management roles.
- Proficiency in copywriting with the ability to create engaging content across multiple platforms.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and understanding of online consumer behavior.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management related to marketing activities.
- Excellent communication skills through both email and in-person dialogue.
- Background in interior design/decorating, ideally with existing market connections.
- A love or appreciation for history, art, and/or printed matter.
- Familiarity with basic Photoshop or other design program.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $800.00 - $1,000.00 per month
