You will be a key part of ensuring PACCAR products not only meet the needs o f customers but also those of the climate .This position is located in Lewisville, TX .ResponsibilitiesEnsure adherence to ISO26262 second edition standard to Develop designs for battery electric and Hybrid PowertrainDirect building, modification, and testing of Powertrain components and systemsManage Safety Plan for Powertrain contentSupport process for Development Interface Agreement as applicable for Powertrain componentsLead Perform Impact analysis for new projectsAssist team to Lead Support development of item definitions and perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA).Perform safety analyses, including DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and DFA per ISO 26262 guidelines.Development of Functional Safety concepts for Powertrain functionsWork with vehicle and system architecture teams to derive functional safety requirements and technical requirements from derived safety goals.Develop and maintain expertise in automotive best practices for Functional SafetyMaintain safety-related artifacts/documents and perform review with cross-functional teams.Support functional safety-related audits and assessments.Position requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.Qualifications / SkillsBachelor's degree required, Master’s degree in Engineering, or a related field preferred.5+ years of experience with automotive or similar electronic modules and /or systems engineering.System engineering for control systems/code/architecture on heavy-duty autonomous or commercial trucks.Working with ISO 26262 standard requirements to develop system safety requirements.Creating and managing Functional Safety (FuSa) plans and development interface agreements.Applying knowledge of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis.Managing timelines and deliverables for functional safety projects in coordination with function definition and validation teams.Pro-active attitude and perseverance.Excellent Cooperation and communication skills in English including management presentation skills.Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities.Preferred Qualifications:Working with ISO 26262 standard requirements to develop commercial vehicle system safety requirementsReviewing test cases to determine Fault Tolerance Time Internals and confirm safety requirements compliance with ISO 26262 safety standardsUsing functional safety tools (including Medini), requirements management tools (including DOORS Next Generation (DNG)) and configuration and change management tools (including Windchill)Why work for PACCAR ?Global Fortune 500 company with a wide array of growth and development opportunities .Work in an established engineering organization where work / life balance is valued.Work alongside experienced goal-oriented colleagues recognized as experts in their fields .Support and/or design the commercial vehicles of the future with a focus on emerging technologies such as electric drive systems, ADAS, and fully autonomous driving .Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for you and your family .Paid Time Off – vacation, paid holidays, and sick leave.401k with company match AND a company-paid pension plan after 5 years .Tuition reimbursement for continued education – eligible after 1 year of service .Additional Job Board InformationPACCAR promotes equal employment opportunities by implementing policies and practices that ensure employees and applicants are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, mental or physical disability, medical condition, genetic information, military or veteran status or other legally protected status.
