FreshDirect Express Inbound Team Lead (Manhattan)

Description
The Inbound Team Lead is responsible for supporting inbound management in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Inbound department, ensuring the highest level of quality of service is provided by our associates while supporting the company policies, goals and objectives and following company safety standards.
Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop the strengths of associates in the inbound department
• Resolve conflicts among associates, or escalate appropriately
• Schedule and manage associate breaks
• Greet and direct building visitors to proper personnel
• Attend daily Inbound huddles and translate stated goals into actions for your team
• Attend daily shift turnover meetings (area handoff & building overview) with inbound leadership
• Attend weekly Inbound Leadership meetings
• Understand, and maintain awareness of, business metrics for individuals in your area, your team, and your building
• Analyze productivity reports to manage area-specific capacity and move labor between outbound functions
• Perform all inbound functions as needed, at an expert level
• Enhance team performance by running regular area-specific skills drills (collaboration with Learning and Development)
• Perform regular quality and safety audits in your work area
• Communicate regularly with Outbound Leadership to identify and resolve cross-functional issues
• Contribute to written End of Shift (EOS) Recaps for your area(s)
• Conduct Start of Shift and End of Shift supply checks Count and order operational inventory: checkout bags, bag bottoms, gloves, rubber bands, pick carts, trip building rolling racks, delivery totes
• Assist management in coaching associates and refining processes.
• Complete daily and weekly Leadership Standard Work, such as managing operational inventory, auditing for quality and safety, overseeing specific inbound functions, and participating in plant leadership meetings.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In a workday: standing/walking 6-10 hours or more
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals, loud noises, flashing lights
• Constant exposure to temperatures:
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
• Ability to work in other areas of the business as needed

Education and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 months experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or food processing environment
• 6 + months of proven leadership experience
• Expert ability in all inbound functions
• Demonstrated comfort with arithmetic and basic data analysis
• Demonstrated listening skills and ability to give feedback firmly and compassionately
• Demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly in English
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Ability to work weekends (both Saturday and Sunday)
• Ability to work overtime, or to cover team shifts as needed

• Ability to work part or all of the day in a cold climate (32 to 38 degrees)
• Ability to stay alert, on your feet, and in constant motion for most of an 8-10 hour shift
• Ability to twist, bend, sit, and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs intermittently

Note: The hourly range for this role is $19.75
