JOB SUMMARY: The Risk Coordinator provides day to day operational support for Risk Management, assisting in the triage and assessment of risk and liability issues, serving as an additional point of contact for staff inquiries. This position coordinates identified priority projects, which includes reviewing policies, regulations, standards, consultations, and best practices in contributing to risk prevention and mitigation measures and provides input in organizing and meeting goals of a comprehensive risk work plan. The Risk Coordinator works with staff in building a culture of proactive risk identification, patient safety, and trust in services.The Risk Management department is responsible for managing the organization's insurance portfolio. This position helps to effectively coordinate necessary information for annual insurance renewal processes with multiple lines of coverage, working closely with the supervisor and brokers, and is also involved with claims reporting, billing adjustments, and assisting legal teams with defense preparations. The incumbent will utilize their understanding of healthcare processes to assist with investigations and follow-up of adverse events; will monitor reporting system for potentially compensable events related to patient, visitor, property, automobile, and cyber; and will collaborate on risk assessments, identifying gaps, and action plans for improvements.The Risk Coordinator will coordinate structure to maintain risk resources for department's ongoing use, promote compliance of accrediting body standards and regulatory requirements in risk areas, and participate in developing and carrying out plans that support the efforts of enterprise risk management
QUALIFICATIONS: Education
• Bachelor's degree or clinical degree preferred (comparable experience and training may be considered in lieu of degree)
Experience
• Two or more years' healthcare, risk management, liability insurance, or legal experience
• Knowledge and familiarity with healthcare
