The Project Architect’s primary responsibility is to assist Project Managers with executing projects with a high level of quality and technical completeness of work.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture with minimum 5 years of experience
  2. Minimum 2 years of self-managing project(s) experience with minimal guidance
  3. Architecture license is preferred
  4. Strong knowledge of codes, guidelines and regulations applicable to architecture projects including but not limited to Zoning, IBC, ADA, Hawaii Energy Code including local amendments
  5. Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment and strong communication within these teams
  6. Extensive experience with computer-aided design/drafting programs (Revit required)
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites applications
  8. Familiarity with Project Management software (i.e., Deltek) is a plus
  9. Able to read, understand, and interpret Construction Drawings across all disciplines
  10. Working understanding of project delivery methods and process
  11. Working understanding of contract types and ability to properly administer the contract obligations
  12. Working knowledge and familiarity with projects within the public sector preferred with private sector a plus
  13. Ability to develop programs, initial design concepts, and establish project goals
  14. Self-starter with initiative and strong follow-through
  15. Ability to work with minimal supervision
  16. LEED AP designation highly preferred
  17. Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to come up with timely and efficient solutions to complex problems and issues
  18. Ability to lead a team (internal and external) and organize the team around a common goal a plus
  19. Ability to multitask multiple projects and teams with exceptional organizational skills
  20. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  21. Positive service-oriented attitude toward the firm, our employees, and the clients

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Constant and consistent communication and reporting to Project Managers
  2. Coordination with client, subconsultants, and internal team
  3. Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for smaller projects and assist Project Manager for larger more complex projects
  4. Foster positive client relationships and maintain consistent communication as assigned or under the oversight of Project Managers
  5. Plan, organize, direct, and manage project team activities for smaller projects and assist Project Manager for larger more complex projects within the terms set in the project's contract.
  6. Coordinate and produce accurate and complete Bid and Construction packages including but not limited to: Project schedules, product selection, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, basis of design, meeting minutes, construction administration, and other miscellaneous reports and documents.
  7. Assist with Leading and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment
  8. Set positive examples and provide mentorship and guidance to expand the skillsets of all team members
  9. Assist with delegating tasks and responsibilities to team members based on strengths and expertise
  10. Assist with defining and controlling project scope, budget, and schedule while minimizing scope creep
  11. Assist with monitoring project financials including but not limited to project expenses, manpower projections, identify cost-saving/efficiency opportunities, and periodic project financial reports on budget performance
  12. Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies in a proactive manner
  13. Proactively address issues to prevent project delays and setbacks
  14. Participate and support Change Management initiatives which may include planning, training and support, monitoring, reinforcement and enforcement of procedures and standards.
  15. Assist in reviewing Requests for Proposals, preparing fees and contracts, and monitoring project billing
  16. Interact with building officials during project permitting and construction phases
  17. Maintain project manual and conduct and document on-site observations and reviews
  18. Perform other related duties if necessary

$84,000 – $120,000 per year depending on experience.
