As a senior UX/UI designer at IXL, you'll be a key member of the design team, collaborating cross-functionally to create great experiences. Your passion for designing intuitive, functional, and beautiful features - along with your technical knowledge - will continually address our customers' needs and requirements. You will work across a variety of our brands such as IXL, Rosetta Stone, Education.com, Wyzant, Vocabulary.com, and more.

This is a full-time position in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Create visual experiences for user-facing web, mobile, and tablet-based platforms
  • Transform wireframes into original, creative mock-ups in low and high fidelity prototypes
  • Inspire users with attractive, compelling designs while maintaining visual consistency and brand identity
  • Participate in collaborative feedback sessions with the design team and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities by providing design direction on projects as and when required
  • Communicate with product team members and key stakeholders to understand and interpret project requirements
  • Enhance existing interfaces with new layouts, photos, graphics, and content
  • Collaborate with our marketing teams to design emails, promotions, online ads, and marketing collateral

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of experience in UX/UI design
  • Ability to create user-centric, clutter-free, visually consistent designs
  • In-depth knowledge of product design tools such as Figma or Sketch
  • Thorough understanding of UX/UI processes, methodologies, design libraries, understanding of web responsive practices, and principles
  • Ability to effectively communicate visually, verbally, and in writing
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion
  • Passion for outstanding, elegant design
  • Experience in print design is not essential, but an added bonus
  • Experience in education is a plus

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 to $150,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
