Job Summary:
The Title Clerk at Sternberg Automotive Group plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper documentation and title processing for all vehicle sales. This full-time, hourly administrative position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals looking to join a reputable company in the Jasper, Indiana area. The Title Clerk will work closely with the Sales and Finance departments to ensure a smooth and efficient title transfer process.

Responsibilities:

  • Process vehicle titles for all sales, including new and used vehicles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Verify and submit all necessary paperwork, including titles, registration documents, and lien releases, to the appropriate state agencies and financial institutions 
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation for certain sales transactions including but not limited to dealer trades and intercompany sales
  • Review and process all documents for trade-in vehicles and prepare titles for resale
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to gather required paperwork and information for title processing
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical filing systems for all title documentation
  • Keep updated on state and federal regulations and industry best practices for title processing
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business beneficial
  • Experience in vehicle title processing preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to vehicle titles and registration a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage and organize paperwork
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
