OVERVIEW

we are a Modern American French Bistro restaurant looking for a passionate hospitality professional to oversee daily operations for their award winning restaurant. Candidates must have a depth of experience in delivering a high level of professionalism, presence, a commitment to excellence (from the food on the plate to hospitality offered to guests and staff alike) and strong administrative abilities. Must have experience running payroll, successfully crunching end of night numbers on spreadsheets, and following through on administrative tasks.

RESPONSIBLITIES

The GM leads with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a keen eye for detail. The GM ensures each service creates an unforgettable dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities include:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build and mentor a high-performing restaurant team that meets the company’s high standards of service.
  • Hire, train, and supervise new employees
  • Oversee staff education on service, beverage appreciation, and product knowledge
  • Perform annual performance reviews for employees to monitor performance and to set goals for each year.

Guest Experience:

  • Provide exceptional on-the-floor leadership, engaging with guests to ensure an outstanding dining experience every night.
  • Respond to customer complaints or inquiries in a polite, friendly manner, ensuring follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain a welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
  • Manage the floor, including touching tables, running food, overseeing staff, and monitoring the door.

Operational Excellence:

  • Perform executive duties such as running bi-weekly payroll and preparing tip sheets, managing reservations on Resy, and writing manager schedules.
  • Handle large party reservations and ensure effective coordination of daily opening and closing duties.
  • Supervise the assistant manager in scheduling Front of House staff, considering business levels, special events, and labor budgets.
  • Supervise the assistant manager writing the schedule for Front of House staff while taking into account team members’ strengths and weaknesses, last year’s business levels, special events, and labor budget.
  • Perform administrative tasks as delegated or otherwise assigned.
  • Coordinate daily opening and closing duties. This includes and is not limited to preparing and reconciling closing banks, conducting pre-shifts with your team, writing daily recaps, and doing the final restaurant walk-through.
  • Engage in effective communication with the management team through emails, texts, phone calls, and regular meetings.
  • Oversee the ordering of inventory for all wine and spirits.
  • Collaborate with the events manager to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Maintain all cleanliness, health, hygiene, and security procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($72,000-$82,000.00)
