We are looking for dedicated educators who can navigate the unique challenges these children face, offering them not just academic instruction, but hope, stability, and a sense of purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to the children's current academic development, literacy levels, and communication skills.
Provide structured classroom instruction from Monday to Friday, focusing on core academic subjects such as Science, Social Studies, Math, Reading, and Writing.
Incorporate English Language Training into the curriculum, ensuring children develop competency and confidence in communication.
Engage students in Physical Education activities, promoting overall well-being and physical development.
Evaluate and assess each student's progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies to cater to individual learning needs.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and trauma-sensitive classroom environment.
Collaborate with the Education Coordinator, Scheduler, and other teachers to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience.
Participate in training and professional development sessions, always seeking to enhance teaching methodologies and understanding of the specific needs of refugee children.
Maintain regular communication with caregivers and relevant stakeholders about each student's progress.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject. A Master's degree or additional certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably in diverse or challenging settings.
Strong understanding of curriculum design and the ability to tailor instruction to varied academic levels.
Demonstrated ability to teach English as a Second Language or English Language Learners is an advantage.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by refugee children and the ability to navigate these in an educational setting.
Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish, is an advantage.
