Job Overview:
The VP of Consumer Sales and Service in the garage door industry is responsible for driving the sales and service of aftermarket retrofit customers, in replacement garage doors for homeowners, maintenance contracts, and repair and service. This role involves developing sales strategies, lead generation strategy and implementation, analyzing data and creating KPIs for success including call flow, sales presentations, service lines and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing customers to maximize revenue and enhance customer satisfaction. The manager will oversee the entire aftermarket division and sales process, from identifying opportunities to closing deals, while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the aftermarket space, including service and repair, and service contracts.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform sales strategies.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to aftermarket products and services promptly and effectively.
- Develop and execute customer retention strategies, including follow-up service calls and feedback collection.
- Manage and understand call flow and call quality throughout the sales process for both retrofit and service and repair.
3. Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales representatives, customer service representatives and potentially more to achieve departmental goals.
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team is knowledgeable about new products, services, and sales techniques.
- Set performance goals for team members and conduct performance reviews to support their development and growth.
4. Operational Management:
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of service and maintenance activities to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels of products and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for sales and service operations to ensure consistency and quality.
5. Sales and Revenue Growth:
- Budget and manage sales cycle to achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets for products and services.
- Track and report on sales performance metrics, including revenue, profit margins, and customer acquisition costs.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns to drive sales.
6. Lead Generation
- Develop and maintain a lead generation strategy.
- Monitor with KPIs in place to improve and increase lead conversion rates.
7. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all sales and service activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and service management, lead generation and revenue growth for aftermarket goods and services, preferably in the garage door industry or a related field.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets, managing a high-performing sales team, lead generation and revenue growth.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Other:
- 3-Year clean driving record
- Pass Background Check
- Knowledge of garage door products is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires both office work and fieldwork, including customer site visits.
- Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, trade shows, and training sessions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
