Position Overview

QinetiQ US is looking for a Payroll Team Lead to join our Finance Team.   

The Payroll Team Lead will be responsible for the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for a quickly growing company currently at about 1400 employees using ADP Workforce Now.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system (DeltekCostpoint). Setup each employee’s timekeeping profile, assign the correct indirect charge code to employee’s profile, monitor timesheets to ensure they are submitted and approved in a timely manner, assist employees with timesheet questions and/or issues with the recording of hours, perform timecard corrections in the system of varying complexity, ensure valid data transfers to/from HR to payroll.
  • Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to APA policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
  • Research, maintain, and understand all state, local and federal withholding taxes, rules and regulations.
  • Participate in the review of payroll with HR and management
  • Assist with audits, internal audits and various information requests from customers and other third parties.
  • Manage year-end process.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of W-2 processing and reporting.
  • Provide Accounting analysis and complex reconciliations
  • Maintain employee and project Concur master file and upload into Concur on a frequent basis for employee travel and expenses.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.   
Required Qualifications
  • Five plus years in a Payroll Office performing all payroll functions; three years additional payroll office experience in lieu of associate’s degree
  • Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access, and Internet Explorer
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.  
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance required, Accounting Degree preferred.
  • Strong computer skills using Costpoint Deltek's accounting system and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience with CostPoint Deltek.
