This role will be designated to support both Dune Deck Beach Club and The Hill. This position will be based out of The Hills property, set East Quoague, NY.
Discovery Land is seeking a Director of IT to support the Development and Operations Departments.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee, mentor and augment IT staff technical support of desktop computers, applications, server systems and related technology.
• Assist staff to provide hardware/software support to both local and remote users and is available to troubleshoot via phone as needed.
• Serves in the role as primary engineering resource to troubleshoot problems with all facets of the company technical operations including but not limited to the applications
• SQL Server, LAN/WAN connection, customer service, and recommends and takes corrective action(s) as required.
• Assists staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop and server platforms, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
• Assists VP, IT in negotiation of third-party vendor contracts for technology services and support delivery and oversees vendor performance according to negotiated Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Assists VP, IT in establishing the technical vision for the company.
• Assists in the planning, development and implementation of the company's network architecture and in the management of that environment.
• Actively assists in the development of IT procedures and the selection of standard technology equipment to support the safe, secure and effective operations of the company.
• Actively develops knowledge base articles and working guides for company IT staff to facilitate uniform processes for system and application troubleshooting and problem resolution and maximize staff efficiency and expertise.
• Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop, server and networking systems to include hardware and software.
• Trains and orients Discovery Land Company staff on use of hardware and software.
• Mentors and trains staff responsible for desktop, server system and component ordering for both headquarters and project locations.
• Provides project scope and definition. Anticipates project deviations, and defines and implements risk mitigation strategies. Oversees the process to enable changes to defined scope of the project as required.
• Internal Communications Management - Maintains timely communication of progress and status of each projects.
• Develop and track a process for Issues Management, which contains all issues identified to date for each project.
• Be able to affect or sway a course of action by using strong perceptive skills and leadership traits to reach and build consensus in diverse groups.
• Must be flexible and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field, an advance degree may be preferred
• Five plus years of experience as a Regional IT Manager
• Five years of any system integration or large system functional experience
• Five plus years of managing a team providing IT solution delivery and day to day end user support
• Extensive experience with concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments
• Contributes to the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
• Problem solver with ability to navigate complex problems

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The compensation for the position is: $135,000-$153,000 + Bonus.
